Build Log 0001: The (Re-) Starting Point

Today marks the start of a new adventure.  Actually, that’s not true.  Today marks the re-start of an old adventure.  Almost 10 years ago, I had set up a workshop in the garage of a rented house in Trinity, Florida, with the intention of building an RV-7.  I was barely 21, barely making rent, and once it came time to actually start placing orders, I realized that it just wasn’t the right time.  The workbenches were given away, the empty toolboxes were sold, and I paused my project.

Now, the timing isn’t perfect, but it’s better.  My wife and I are now homeowners, and we’re in a position to afford the build, considering it’ll take years to complete.  One child became two, and will become three early next year, so I won’t be devoting hours every day to the project, but I’m confident that slow forward progress will get me to the finish line.  I’ll be documenting the experience here.  Thanks for reading.
